Afterward, she would save the pineapple skin and gently boil it with fragrant cinnamon sticks and fresh ginger. -1 whole pineapple
-3 cinnamon sticks
-1 star anise (optional)
-1 inch fresh ginger root
-5 cups of water
Directions:
Cut pineapple preserving skin on the side.
Enjoy pineapple fruit and or store for later.
Pour 5 cups of water into a pot, then your pineapple skin, cinnamon sticks, star anise, and ginger root.
Bring to a boil until the water it yellowish.
Serve and enjoy. This also can be chilled over ice as well. You can sweeten with honey or sugar.
